National Board thanks podiatry profession for professionalism and ongoing commitment during COVID-19

12 Oct 2021

During Foot Health Week, the Podiatry Board of Australia (the Board) thanks podiatrists and podiatric surgeons for their professionalism, resilience and ongoing commitment to the foot health of all Australians.

‘This year more than ever, providing safe and effective essential podiatry care has been challenging. Many of you have rapidly changed your service delivery models due to the second year of the pandemic. Your flexibility has ensured all Australians can maintain good foot health no matter where they live, work or play. Through these changes, we congratulate you on making a difference in so many people’s lives’ said Board Chair A/Prof Cylie Williams.

The Board also acknowledge the challenges faced by podiatry students. Congratulations to the 2020 graduates as well as those due to graduate in 2021. You have experienced learning like no other podiatry cohorts, and we hope the foundational adaptable skills you have learned, assist while on your lifelong learning journey as a podiatrist.

‘Foot Health Week is an opportunity to encourage podiatrists and students to look after yourself and your colleagues during the current challenges and seek help and support when needed,’ said A/Prof Cylie Williams.
